The Opportunity
Reporting to the Tax Manager, this role provides critical assistance across all aspects of the tax function for Frasers Property Australia (FPA), Frasers Property Industrial (FPI), Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust (FLCT), Frasers Hospitality (FH), and our various Joint Ventures (JV). This role will be predominantly based at Rhodes, NSW with periodic days in the Sydney CBD office.
Working closely with the wider Tax team, you will play an important role in the achievement of team objectives while expanding your technical expertise across multiple tax disciplines.
What you’ll do
Income Tax: Assist in the preparation of income tax returns, tax provision calculations (including tax-effect accounting and deferred taxes reporting), and engage with external advisors to ensure on-time lodgement. You will also assist in forecasting, budgeting, and distribution review calculations.
Indirect & Employment Taxes: Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly BAS and IAS, fringe benefits tax returns, and monthly payroll tax returns.
Land Tax: Assist the wider Frasers business in the review of land tax assessments, prepare objections, and ensure timely payment of liabilities.
International Tax: Assist with the preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation and manage the implementation of international tax initiatives announced by the Government and the ATO.
Reporting & Administration: Assist in maintaining the income tax consolidated and GST groups and liaise directly with the ATO.
Process & Data Transformation: Review monthly BAS data to identify risks or opportunities, develop data analytics and exception reporting on self-service platforms, and build process improvements using software in innovative ways.
What you’ll bring
Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a Big 4 or chartered accounting firm, coming from either a corporate tax or indirect tax background.
Qualifications: A Tertiary Qualification in Taxation or Accounting is essential. You will also have commenced your CA, CPA, or Masters of Tax.
Technical Skills: Strong tax technical knowledge and an advanced level of ability in using Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with SAP Software, Business Objects Reporting, and Tax Software (such as OneSource) is highly regarded.
Attributes: You are a reliable, dedicated self-starter and a collaborative team player with an inquisitive mindset. You have a keen interest in data analytics and process transformation, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues from a non-technical background.
Industry Knowledge: An interest in the property industry is required, and prior experience working on property industry clients is desirable.
