The Opportunity  

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Development Manager to join our development team in Victoria.  

Reporting to the General Manager – Business Development, you will be responsible for providing support and working in conjunction with senior leadership and the broader Development team in all aspects of the management and coordination of new business enquiries and responsibilities.  

In this pivotal role, you will work closely with a range of internal departments and external industry specialists to support the full development lifecycle and help deliver high-quality, purpose-led industrial assets.  

What you’ll do  

  • Work with the development team to source new business opportunities across the commercial and industrial sectors, assist with acquisition due diligence, and contribute to discussions regarding development strategy.  

  • Drive Excel feasibilities, summary tables, and approval memos for prospective opportunities, including pre-commitments, estate feasibilities, speculative projects, land sales, and acquisitions.  

  • Coordinate and consult with key project members - including architects, estimating, delivery, planning, and consultants - both at the initial proposal stage and throughout the development project.  

  • Prepare development proposals, internal Investment Committee and Board meeting papers, monthly project leasing reports, and comprehensive project handovers on newly secured developments.  

  • Assist with legal and transaction documents (including AFLs, leases, and Contracts of Sale), manage agency submission requests, raise purchase orders, and manage invoices.  

  • Demonstrate a proactive ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, solve complex problems, and drive strategic insights relevant to the Development function.  

What you’ll bring  

  • A minimum of 2–4 years of industrial development experience, demonstrating a strong working knowledge of the property development industry.  

  • A degree in Property, Land Economics, Real Estate, Commerce, Business, Law, or a related field.  

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills are essential. Financial modelling experience with Argus software is preferred.  

  • Strong financial analytical skills and a high level of competency in understanding the development process, including planning frameworks, design, and lease negotiation.  

  • The ability to openly communicate, share knowledge, and build strong professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.  

  • Excellent organisational skills with the strong attention to detail required to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.  

  • You are a proactive, driven self-starter and a collaborative, team-oriented player.
